Who We Are
Daughters of Liberty’s Legacy Inc. was founded by Cynthia Abbott Kauffman and Debra C. Palazzo in November 2014
We are descended from Revolutionary War Patriots, and we treasure America's unique history. Our searches through our own family histories have found many remarkable people but very few tangible things. We have realized that once a piece of history is lost, it is gone forever. We have made it our goal to find and preserve as much history as we can, so that it can be an education for future generations.
What better way to learn history than to talk to it, ask it questions, see...smell...and touch it.

Cynthia is a co-founder and President of Daughters of Liberty's Legacy and is a married mother of 2 who has run her own small business for 28 years. Her discovery of Revolutionary War Patriot in her family, Peter Abbott, several years ago sent her on a journey of discovery that has taken her all the way back to the Mayflower and Jamestowne. Through all those generations there have been no remaining homes found that family lived in or preserved items that they touched. It is for that reason that she co-founded the Daughters of Liberty’s Legacy to locate lost history and preserve it for generations to enjoy and learn from. She resides in North Castle in Westchester County, New York.
Cynthia is also the President of the White Plains Historical Society, former Trustee of the North Castle Historical Society, Mt. Pleasant Historical Society and President of the White Plains American Legion Auxiliary, Post 135. She is also a member of The Brigade of the American Revolution as an historic interpreter. Her membership in several lineage societies includes the Daughters of the American Revolution where she held the offices of Regent, Registrar and Historian, the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, National Society Daughters of the Founders and Patriots, Flagon and Trencher, National Society Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims, United States Daughters of 1812, National Society Daughters of Colonial Wars and the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century.
She also takes great joy in portraying Ann Fisher Miller at events and programs at Historic Miller House and other locations.

Debra is a co-founder and Vice President of Daughters of Liberty's Legacy and is a practicing attorney. Her search through her family history found a Revolutionary War Patriot, but nothing tangible that remained of that life. She became inspired to want to preserve and bring history to life in muti-media presentations to the public.
Debra is also the Vice President of the White Plains Historical Society, former Trustee of the Mount Pleasant Historical Society, and is the Vice President of the White Plains American Legion Auxiliary, Post 135. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she held the office of Vice Regent, and the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
